Dear Baby

Dear Baby,

First off, why are you still in my belly!?! I was hopping you would be out by now. I know it's only been 39 weeks but I can't wait much longer so hurry, please.

This past week we had an ultrasound and got to see your adorably fat face. You seriously looked so smashed in there. The doctor said that you are only about 7lbs 9oz. It would probably make labor go a little easier if you really are smaller but I'm not too sure how much I trust that ultrasound machine right now. Your big brother is in the 99th percentile for height and 91st for weight right now and I can only imagine that you will be a big boy too. So anyways, it's looking like we wont be inducing and I'm a little worried that once things get started they will happen so fast that I wont get to try the epidural thing and that maybe you'll stay in there past my due date just to out weigh Archie's birth weight. Please don't.

Archie has been practicing giving you hugs and kisses. He recognizes your name. He is going to be such a good big brother and hopefully a best friend. Apparently he wants to tell you something, I hope that you can decipher whatever code he is using.  ;)

I guess all I'm really trying to say is that we really want to meet you sooner than later and it's fine by me if you are not 9lbs.

38 Weeks

Yesterday marked 38 weeks. Even if I'm still pregnant for a few more weeks I doubt I'll feel up to taking/posting another maternity photo.

It's been quite a journey so far. The little baby boy I'm carrying is very active and strong. I keep telling myself it's good thing except it feels like I have internal bruising. The last trimester has been very uncomfortable. The doctor is always saying that he is really low and I can feel a ton of pressure in my hips. My legs are always hurting and I feel like a whale. Okay, enough complaining!

I am so excited that he is coming to join our family soon. I feel so much love for Archie and so blessed to be his mom that I get teary eyed just thinking about having another little miracle. I can't wait to hold him in my arms and for him to curl his little fingers around mine. I look forward to the cuddles and kisses. I want so badly to see his face and look into his eyes.

Last weeks doctors appointment went well, like always the heart beat was good and easy to find. This little guy sticks his bottom side out on my right side and then kicks and punches me on the left with his head down. I think it's easy to find the heart beat because it's so obvious the way he is sitting. My tummy is often lumpy looking.

Archie was about 9lbs and arrived almost on his due date. The doctor is always saying that 2nd babies tend to be bigger. We are both a little worried about that so next week I have an ultra sound to check his weight and I may get induced if he's looking big. One way or another I hope that he comes soon!

18 Months Old

Our once baby boy is now 18 months old and about to be a big brother. I can't believe how big and grown up he is is! He loves to sleep in his new big boy room in his big boy bed and occasionally he will go potty. There are so many things that he loves right now but he would be so happy to have me read him books all day or just hang out outside with his Papa all day. He loves to sing and when he feels like it he is excellent at doing all the motions. He will grab each of our toes one by one as we tell him about the little piggies. He loves animals, will recognize them and make their sounds. He is picking up on new words everyday, yesterday, one was "muffin". His favorite sentence is, "I did it!" He loves to say,"Uh-oh!" when he falls down, drops/throws something on the floor or someone passes gas. He is generous with his high fives but stingy with his kisses. On a good day he is about 90% smiles and 10%  tantrums. He loves food especially fruit. Archie and Oma have really bonded this summer over berries and swimming.

Just got his check up today (9/17/12) and thought I would add the stats.
 Height: 35.5 inches- 99.73 percentile.
Weight: 28.6 pounds- 91.95 percentile.
