Botanical Gardens

We visited the Fabian Garcia Botanical Gardens on the NMSU campus. It's gorgeous. It's not spacious but it's packed with beautiful, bright flowers, a gazebo, a footbridge, a fountain and a brick structure of sorts. What an excellent place this will make for portraits!
We are not sure if people are really suppose to go out here but we went behind the gardens and walked out by chili fields and maple trees. It made for a lovely evening.

Archie's Halloween Costume

We took Archie to a nearby park to get some good Halloween photos. He still wants to taste everything! See more of them HERE if you haven't seen them yet.

Visiting Jacob's Grandma

So, it's been a little over a week now that we went to see Archie's other great Grandma.

We had some fun times together.

We also stopped by the Snowflake Temple, though it was closed for cleaning :(

Visiting My Grandma

Here are some more photos from our trip.

My grandma is amazing. She is so active. She goes swimming, works out at the gym and washes her laundry by hand- everyday. She misses her old house and the activities there but has to stay in an apartment in this retirement home because of her poor vision.

It is a beautiful place though.

I loved the decor, in the picture above you can see a cute rocking chair that Archie would have loved if we could have gotten to it. There were also tons of gorgeous paintings on the walls of all the hallways there.

We had a great time in their warm swimming pool that had a sun screen all around it. It was perfect for Archie!

Jacob and I also enjoyed a couple of games of pool.

They had a fall tree.

My grandma really is quite the little old lady! We had a great time visiting her.

Killing Time

This is Archie a few weeks ago at the library in my grandma's retirement home.

We had a bit of time to kill one morning before breakfast:)

When we were in Florida, we visited the Volusia County Library and loved it.
There was a special section for little one to play and read.

German Babies

We fist had one of these at a bed and breakfast on our honeymoon. They are fluffy, eggy and delicious right out of the oven.

They are traditionally topped with butter, powdered sugar and lemon juice. I like them better topped with butter and powdered cinnamon sugar.

They are super easy to make!

Mix together:
3 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup flour (I used whole wheat flour above)

Bake at 450 for about 15 minutes in a greased glass pie pan.

Top with butter, powdered sugar and lemon or cinnamon.

Seven Months Old

Archie is a whole seven months now and there are so many fun things to report!

He is really crawling now, sometimes stink bug style, sometimes dragging one foot.
He can pull himself up on furniture and cruise a little.

He's got a little hair fixation, and laughs whenever he gets the quickest touch of my hair.

He will often bang toys around rather than just stuffing them in his mouth (although he still does that a lot too).
He "reads" books aloud to me when he can get them open.
His babbling has increased with occasional real words ("mama" and "ball") that I'm not sure he really understands yet.
He's still working on signing; nothing new but he's getting better at milk, diaper, eat, and more.
He also claps and waves bye-bye.

Maybe my favorite milestone this month: he can feed himself Cheerios and baby puffs.

My least favorite thing about Archie lately: he's really regressed in the length of his sleep stretches. He'll often wake up every 4 hours to eat, probably because he is growing so much.

Thankfully, we didn't have to take him to the doctor this month so there aren't any official stats to report but he got mistaken for a one year old just the other day and he fits most size 12 or 18 month clothes.

Showing off his new argyle socks.

He loves to play the piano...

... and peek-a-boo.

We love you Archie!
